Description
ForgeFix Wing Nuts & Washers provide a convenient alternative to standard Hex Nuts, and allow hand tightening rather than having to use spanners or other tools. Also known as a 'Thumbscrew', the wing nut has two large metal 'wings' for easy tightening and loosening. Both the nuts and washers are bright zinc plated for increased corrosion resistance.
APPLICATION:
Where ever a hand tightened fastening is required. Used where frequent adjustments are needed or part removal can be made quickly at some later stage.
Can be used with all threaded bolt products.
Zinc coatings prevent oxidation of the protected metal to create a longer lasting finish. It does this by forming a barrier and by acting as a sacrificial anode if this barrier is damaged. Zinc oxide is a fine white dust that (in contrast to iron oxide) does not trigger a breakdown of the substrate’s surface integrity as it is formed. The zinc oxide, if left intact, can act as a barrier to further oxidation, in a way similar to the protection afforded to aluminium and stainless steels by their oxide layers.

Availability
In stock means the item is available and can be ordered now. Out of stock means it can't be ordered at the moment; we don't take back orders. For brands we supply on an enquiry basis, such as GEDORE, the page says "Please contact us to confirm availability". You can still order, and we'll be in touch to confirm before dispatch.
Delivery
We work Monday to Friday. In stock items are dispatched within 2 to 3 working days (orders placed before 3pm count from that day), then sent with DPD or Royal Mail on a next working day service, so most orders arrive within 3 to 4 working days.
Delivery is a flat £7.14 inc VAT (£5.95 ex VAT) per order to mainland UK, however many items you buy. Highlands and islands postcodes are £11.99 inc VAT (£9.99 + VAT), see the postcode list. We don't deliver to Northern Ireland.
Returns
Changed your mind? You have 14 days from delivery to cancel, and we refund you within 14 days of getting the item back or proof you've sent it, including the original delivery charge. You pay the return postage. If an item is faulty or wrong, your legal rights apply and we pay the return postage. See our returns policy for full details.
